Ehrmann Verhaltenskodex

19 English 2.5 The relationship to the environment and society Environment As a company in the food industry, protecting and pre- serving the environment and its resources for today’s as well as tomorrow’s generation is a fundamental con- cern for Ehrmann. This is why we are always working above and beyond the legal guidelines to minimize our environmental impact in the development, production and marketing of products. The constant, systematic reduction of our primary en- ergy demand in the entire production and value-add chain per unit of finished product sold is self-evident for Ehrmann. Involvement in public functions Ehrmann advocates its employees getting involved in public and social functions at the community and inter- regional level. However, such events, if rendered in return for payment, do require prior written approval from management or the personnel department, as do all other secondary activities. Political activities Political activity in the company, in particular the or- ganization of political events on corporate grounds, is explicitly prohibited. Employees are not allowed to affix posters on corporate grounds, write on walls or distribute flyers or other print- ed matter with political content. Ehrmann as a company is politically neutral. Any fund- ing or otherwise material grant to parties or their affili- ated organizations require prior written consent from the Executive Board of Ehrmann. Of course, employees are however free to become po- litically active in their private sphere as long as they do not make appearances as an employee or representa- tive of Ehrmann.
